1st Johnston Scout Group

The 1st Johnston Scout Group was recently awarded £3240 by The West Wales Grand Charity to provide flooring for their new Scout Hut. Here's how they feel about our support:

Dear Pembrokeshire Masons,

I write to thank you very much for the amazing donation you gave to us which has allowed us to carpet our main and middle hall, also to put appropriate flooring in our kitchen, shower and toilet areas. What a difference it has made! Apart from changing the whole look of the place, making it so much more comfortable for all users, it has helped greatly to cushion sound - which with dozens of Beavers, Cubs and Scouts running around, means us Leaders go home headache free!

As you know we use the hall regularly for Scouting activities, and have had a few Area Scouting bookings for training and the like. People seeing the carpet and floor coverings are so impressed - most say they would live at the hall, it looks so comfy!

Looking at it now, it is hard for us to believe what it was like when moved in. Those from the community who attend our sales marvel at the work done, which is down to the likes of you who have so generous to our Group. The large part of the immediate work in the hall is now complete, and will stop there until we can attract some funding, which as you know is not easily come by. Future direct needs are for equipment, additional lighting needs, and grounds work.

If we can ever help you in some way please do contact us.

With best wishes, yours in Scouting,

Pat Dixon - Group Scout Leader
