Health and Social Care student Jessica Roberts was selected by Pembrokeshire College to receive this year's Colin O’Dare Masonic Bursary Award, given annually by the Provincial Grand Charity of the Masonic Province of West Wales to encourage worthy students to further their education. Jessica has funded her own way through her course at Pembrokeshire College, working both as a Health Care Support Worker and as a Cleaner at Withybush Hospital in her spare time.
The Head of West Wales Freemasons, Stephen Hookey presented Jessica with a cheque for £1500 and a certificate to commemorate the award on Wednesday 18th July 2018. He congratulated Jessica on her achievements, wishing her luck when she goes to university in March 2019 to study for a degree in Mental Health Nursing.
Jessica was thrilled to receive the bursary and said, “The money will be a massive help when I go to University, so I am absolutely delighted!”
Stephen Hookey said, “it is a delight to be able to help such a hard-working young person who has been able to achieve a distinction on her course, despite very challenging circumstances. We wish you every success for the future.”
