MCF Tercentenary Community Awards

Brethren will remember the announcement of the MCF Community Awards scheme, which caused a flurry of activity back in September 2016. Lodges were invited to nominate charities to participate in the scheme, and after due process four names were submitted to the MCF.

The four charities nominated have been accepted by the MCF, and they have now received their application packs. We are now able to tell you that the four charities nominated are, in no particular order:

  1. HOPE Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre, Neyland
  2. Carmarthen Youth Project (Dr M’z)
  3. HUTS (Help Us To Survive), Newcastle Emlyn
  4. Welsh Hearts / Calonnau Cymru

Brethren will note that, after due deliberation, we selected one charity in each county of the Province, plus one (Welsh Hearts) which operates across the Province as a whole.

The charities are now in the process of making their detailed applications to the MCF, and the public vote will take place, we believe, in June and July this year. Remember that these 4 awards will be for £25000, £15000, £6000 and £4000 – a total of £50000 of funding coming into the Province.

We shall let you know when the vote is to take place. In the meantime, and to raise the profile of both the event and the charities, we have invited the nominees to attend our Charity Dinner on 8th April, where they will make a very short sales pitch.
