Pembrokeshire County Swimming National Performance Squad received £850 from the Freemasons, who are celebrating their 300th anniversary.
The squad consists of 17 of the best young swimmers in Pembrokeshire with ages ranging from 12 years to 18 years. The children represent Pembrokeshire all over the UK and the grant was used to purchase team jackets to keep the squad warm, both on their travels and at the pool side.
The grant was made jointly by the Masonic Province of West Wales and Cleddau Lodge of Freemasons which meets in Haverfordwest, where the squad is based.
Haverfordwest freemason James Ross said:
“Charity has always been at the heart of Freemasonry and we are delighted that we can celebrate our 300th anniversary by donating to this outstanding organisation which does so much to help these talented young people.”
