At our Annual Sunday on the 3rd June 2018 Joseph sent the following message :-

Dear Gentlemen.

My sincere apologies that I am unable to join you this weekend, performance commitments mean that I have to stay in Cardiff. I would like to say a tremendous thanks to all in the Lodge for their wealth of support and encouragement both personally and through the award. It has been invaluable in furthering my career as a musician. A good proportion of the award has been spent on piano tuition with the renowned accompanist Michael Pollock once accompanist to Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, allowing me to improve my piano technique, interpretation and understanding of song repertoire. Which is an ever important part of a musicians life. A proportion of the bursary has been dedicated to purchasing new music, a book of Schubert song cycles, a collection of Handel Arias, a book of Roger Quilter English songs and a book of French Song, allowing me to provide a varied programme for recitials.concerts and auditions. Also a small proportion was used to offset transport costs in order for me to participate as a guest accompanist at the Festival of Massed Male Choirs at the Royal Albert Hall. This was  an incredible experience that the bursary award helped me to achieve. In a time when funding for arts and music tuition is ever increasing under threat,it is refreshing and humbling to see organisations like the Lodge stepping forward to encourage musicians on a local and national level. Once again a huge thanks you all,

Joseph Cavalli – Price
