Tenby August Events

As part of the Tercentenary celebrations, there will be a teddy bear’s picnic in Tenby Harbour (near the church) on Sunday August 13th from 1pm to 5pm (WEATHER PERMITTING). There will be picnic snacks for children, and a chance for them to win a teddy bear.  The aim is to engage with the public and showcase the work of the Teddies for Loving Care (TLC) Appeal, our wonderful Masonic charity that donates teddy bears to hospital A&E departments for medical staff to give to children that are sick, injured or severely distressed. To date over 25,000 teddies have been distributed to the four hospitals in our Province with A&E depts, and in total over 2 million across England and Wales. The picnic is being organised by W.Bro. Steve Thurgood of Tenby Lodge who is the TLC Appeal coordinator for the Province of West Wales. Do drop by if you happen to be in Tenby!

To mark the 150th anniversary of Tenby Lodge, an Open Day is being held at Tenby Masonic Hall (on South Parade) on Wednesday August 16th from 1pm to 7pm. A number of Tenby Lodge members will be present to talk to interested members of the public, show them the temple and explain a little about Freemasonry, it’s support for local charities, and the history of Tenby Lodge. Refreshments will be available, and if any children come along with their parents there will be a TLC corner with Picnic snacks and a chance to win a teddy bear. It would also be lovely to see any West Wales Masons who fancy dropping by for a cup of tea and a chat. The Open Day is being organised by W Bro David Embra, the Lodge Membership Officer.
