Myrddin Special Needs Unit

W Bro Phil Hall, Treasurer of the Trevor Kelway Lodge, presents a cheque for £300 to the Myrddin Special Needs Unit on behalf of the Trevor Kelway Lodge.  Included in the photograph, along with pupils of the Unit, is Bro Ryan King, a member of that Lodge, whose youngest daughter is one of the pupils. 

 

Bro Ryan chose to raise funds on behalf of the Unit whilst running in the Barcelona marathon.  At the time of the presentation Ryan had managed to raise almost £5,500.

 

Myrddin Special Needs Unit caters for pupils with profound and severe learning difficulties aged 3 to 11.  It was established in 1975 on the same campus as Myrddin County Primary School, Carmarthen, and in 1999 an Autistic Unit was added to the school providing places for pupils aged 3 to 11 on the ASD continuum.

Parkinson's UK in Wales

W Bro Huw Jones, Master of the Trevor Kelway Lodge, presents a cheque for £250 to Mrs Heulwyn Jones, whose husband Clive, had sadly passed away last year after a lengthy illness.  Included in the picture are his son, Greg, along with other members of a fund-raising group and Bro Jonathan Lewis of the Trevor Kelway Lodge. 

 

As part of the overall, additional fund-raising efforts, Jonathan arranged a Musical Tribute evening at the Thomas Arms, Llanelli, earlier this year.

 

Recently, following a variety of initiatives, the group were able to hand over a cheque for £3,439 to Parkinson’s UK in Wales.
