Extract from the PGM's Address

I am delighted to be here this evening to pay tribute to a stalwart of the St David’s Lodge W Bro Thomas Harold Male.

W Bro Tom, you were Initiated in St David’s Lodge on 4th November 1969 having been proposed by Bro AJ Rust and Seconded by Bro JW Jarman. Interestingly the Lodge Dues in 1969 were £5 5 Shillings.

You were Raised in June 1970 and you must have been a very keen Mason, because you were appointed as a Steward at the next Installation meeting on 2nd March 1971. You served the lodge as a steward for 5 years, until you finally got to the top of the list and were invested as Inner Guard on 2nd March 1976. You progressed up the ladder, missing out Senior Deacon and were Installed in the Chair on 4th March 1980. I was particularly interested to read that the address to the WM at the meeting was presented by RW Bro Colonel Trevor Kelway. Following you year as IPM, you have served the lodge in many different offices, including Charity Steward, ADC, DC and Chaplain.

You joined the Kensington Lodge of Installed Masters in 1987 and most recently served that prestigious lodge as Junior Warden in 2017 in the UGLE Tercentenary Year, when my predecessor RW Bro Steve Hookey was Worshipful Master.

In the Province of West Wales, you have held the rank of Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden since 1997. A very high rank indeed.

In the Holy Royal Arch, you were Exalted in the Kensington Chapter in 1974 and served the Chapter as MEZ in 1974. You have held various offices in the Chapter, most recently serving as ADC in 2017.

In the Royal Arch Province, you served as ProvGSN in 2013. I was fortunate to be present at the meeting where you received your 40-year RA Certificate in February 2015.

W Bro Tom, you have been a loyal and faithful member of Freemasonry in West Wales for nearly 51 years. You have served your Lodges, Chapter and the Province with distinction and it is with great pleasure that I now present you with this certificate and badge to mark your remarkable long service to the order. I trust you will continue to enjoy your freemasonry for many years to come.

W Bro Martin Hughes made a further presentation to W Bro Tom at the Festive Board. I am reliably informed that the box contains whisky tumblers.
